Our story

From weekend classes to a registered foundation

We began as a handful of teachers, professionals and graduates running informal tuition in a rented room in Pune. The energy was real, but goodwill without structure runs out. Families needed something they could rely on for years — not a few enthusiastic weekends.

So in 2026 we gave the work a permanent home. Swayambodh Social Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit company, allowing us to build programs that last, stay transparent about every rupee, and invite partners to build alongside us.

The name means self-awareness. We do not arrive with rescue. We arrive with respect, and the patience to help people see what they are already capable of.

Our mission

To advance self-reliance among under-served communities in India through consistent, dignity-first programs in education, skilling and family wellbeing — measured by the change they create in people's lives, not the activity they generate.

Our vision

A society where a person's circumstances at birth do not decide the ceiling of their life — where every child can learn, every young adult can earn with dignity, and every family has a fair chance to stand on its own.
